Florida International Boarding Secondary School Was established in 2057 BS to fill the need of an internationally recognized academic centre of excellence in the western region of Nepal. With a purpose-build infrastructure, professional teachers, residential facilities, and visionary leadership, we are truly an international boarding school.

Our founder Chair, Late Mr. Pratap Ram Lohar was an intellectual. He was a graduate in history from Tribhuvan University. He was a role model for many as he tirelessly made efforts to bring positive change mainly for the poor, underprivileged and disadvantaged. Although he is no longer with us, we will always remember and honour him for his contribution to founding of our school and one in his birthplace, Dhari-1, Darchula in 2025 BS which is now a high school with an Agricultural Course for +2 students.

It is indeed my pleasure and honor to thank you for choosing us to prepare the foundation of our future generations. On this occasion, I would like to share a few words on the rationale of founding this school.

I was fortunate to receive the best education the country had to offer when I was a child at Budhanilkantha School. The education I received there serves as the foundation on which I stand today. From my alma mater, I have learned the importance of the environment of the formative years for shaping the worldview and developing a character of a person.

Founding this school is my way, as an individual, to promoting what I think should be the most valued asset – education. By education, I mean the qualities of a person in terms of civility, conscience, concern one has for others and our environment.

It gives me immense pleasure and fuels enthusiasm when I meet members of our community in all walks of life, each making their unique marks to change the world for the better.

On behalf of the entire school, it is my pleasure to share with you our joy of being a part of this community.

It is noteworthy to mention that this unique school is the single largest investment by a family to improve the socio-economic fabric of this part of our country. The vision and direction are very clear – to leave no stones unturned to make this the premier centre of academic excellence.

To make this vision a reality, we have a dedicated team of professional teachers and staff to facilitate learning and development of students. Needless to say, the pedagogy is supported by state-of-the-art facilities and latest teaching and learning aides.
